Mom and dad wanted to stay in Buffalo because of the Longmire Series. Turns out the series was not filmed here, but Buffalo does host a Longmire Festival every July and the actors all come. The author Craig Johnson set the series in a fictional northern Wyoming town similar to Buffalo. We stayed at the Historic Occidental Hotel.

This hotel was built in 1878 and is full of history, complete with it’s own Saloon and it even has it’s own ghosts! The likes of Butch Cassidy and Calamity Jane have trodden on these very grounds.

Here Chico and I are in our room. It was a nice room with lots of antiques, although the floors were really creaky.

Mom and dad checked out the music in the Saloon then headed for The Virginian next door for dinner. They had the Bison rib eye and said is was excellent.

Tomorrow we head for the monuments. I think I got confused because we lost a day with no internet at the Pahaska Tepee Resort.
