They call them the Twin Falls although as you drive down to the observation point there are several little falls along the hairpin turns and narrow road. Once we got there we saw a beautiful park with lots of green grass and some trees we could meander around and sniff. Such a nice reprieve from the dessert with all the sage brush and rocks we’ve been driving through.Looking the opposite way from the falls is the Snake River. This is not to far from the spot where after much media hype on September 8, 1974 the dare devil Evel Knievel attempted and failed to cross the mile wide Snake River canyon in his specially engineered rocket motorcycle. His parachute malfunctioned and opened on takeoff so he floated down to the bottom of the canyon directly below him. Had he gone in the river, bye bye Evel!
Interesting fact: Twin Falls, is the resting place for one of America’s first female serial killers. Her nickname was Lady Bluebird and she was living in Twin Falls in 1912 when she married and killed her first husband for the insurance money. She eventually married and killed at least 5 men and her own daughter.
