Jackson or Jackson Hole, Wyoming

If you are wondering what the difference between Jackson and Jackson Hole are, Jackson refers to the town and Jackson Hole refers to the whole valley.

We made it to Jackson just in time for the worlds longest running shootout. It began in 1957 and can be seen Monday – Saturday on the Town Square. As you can see, it’s pretty hazy from the fires even here!

Here’s dad with Chico and me in the pet stroller. Great way to travel. These arches guard the four corners of the Town Square. Each arch is made up of 1,000 to 2,000 lbs the Boy Scouts picked up from the Elk Preserve. The male elk shed there antlers every year.
After the shootout, mom and dad were pretty thirsty, so they took us to the Roadhouse Brewing Company. We sat outside while dad went into a T-Shirt shop and bought a couple of beers.

Tomorrow Yellowstone….

  2. Hey Charlie, I think you got it backwards: Dad went into a brewery and bought a T-shirt. Forget that, Dad disappeared and smelled of alcohol. Sounds like you are having fun. ENJOY!
