Savannah, Georgia

Driving here from Pitt’s we went through downpours then sun, downpours then sun, and then dad dodged a bullet! He was trying to pass a pick up that must have been doing 85 mph so dad had to be going 95mph when out of the blue we passed two highway patrol men in the meridian of the highway. Sure enough one pulled out with his lights flashing and pulled the pickup truck and dad over. State trooper Wayne came over to the car and asked dad if he knew what he did and I was barking, barking, telling State trooper Wayne, don’t give my dad, a ticket, barking and more barking. Dad told the State trooper that he was just trying to pass the pickup and I’m still barking. The State Trooper told dad to do him a favor and slow down. Then I stopped barking. We all sighed with heavy relief.

This is the second Airbnb we stayed in. This time for two nights. It was pretty close to Forsyth Park, pictures below.
This is the fountain that was installed in Forsyth Park in 1858 and is probably one of the most photographed places in Savannah. Similar fountains can be found in Paris and Cusco and it was actually ordered from a catalog!
There’s dad in front of the fountain purchased from a catalog.
The iconic Spanish moss associated with the south is very beautiful, but we were warned never to touch it because they are full of chiggers that could burrow into your skin and cause itchy welts. The remedy we were told is to use finger nail polish on your skin to suffocate them…..

Savannah day two….
